A cluster is defined as a group of notes and/or rests that are tied together using a beam or in a few cases a tuplet marker. MusiCAD decides which notes ought to get clustered by means of the tune's meter and the duration of the notes within bars. Occasionally you will want to alter the default clustering.

Using <,> or cluster.gif using the note-properties menu, will cluster two separate notes or clusters.

Using <'> can de-cluster succeeding notes. The buttonbar's alternative is cluster2.gif in the note-properties menu. ( cluster3.gif ).

A cluster may contain additional notes to their sticks. To give a (grayed) note a separate stick, you use the same shortcut/button. You will most likely need to set stem direction as well.
