A tune's meter is usually specified with two digits on top of each other. You will be prompted for the desired meter when creating a new tune.
To insert a meter-change or alter the current meter you'll need the meter menu
MusiCAD supports a wide range of irregular and/or compound meter notation, supplying default subdivision if necessary. Irregular meters can be displayed in number of ways:
8/8 will be displayed as such and played as 3+3+2;
4+2+2/8 will be displayed as such;
2+3+3)/8 will be displayed as 8/8
04/4 will be displayed as common meter
004/4 will be displayed as divided common meter
All of the meter signs above accomodate for 4 quarter notes per bar.
MusiCAD will cluster notegroups of 1/8, 1/16 and 1/32 notes within a bar conform specified (or default) subdivision:
