Stem directions are calculated by MusiCAD. There are two ways to instruct MusiCAD to do otherwise:
part wise:
force all stems in one direction for one part using the score dialog
cluster wise:
force stems in a cluster up or down using <ctrl-
>
and <ctrl-
>
or use the note properties menu
