The cursor is the pointer MusiCAD will use to represent the current position where actions will take place. Depending of the situation the cursor may have a different shape.

if the cursor points to an existing note

if you are about to enter new notes

if the cursor points to an object that has no duration (other than notes and rests)

 

Cursor movement:

<cursor3.jpg>

move one position to the left

<cursor4.jpg>

move one position to the right

<ctrl-cursor5.jpg>

move one bar to the left

<ctrl-cursor6.jpg>

move one bar to the right

<home>

 move the cursor to the beginning of the line.

<end>

 move the cursor to the end of the line.

<Page Up>

 move the cursor to the previous 'line'.

<Page Down>

 move the cursor to the next 'line'.

<ctrl-home>

 move the cursor to the last bar of the melody

<ctrl-end>

 move the cursor to the first bar of the melody

 

When moving the cursor up or down with <cursor7.jpg>, <cursor8.jpg> you can make the cursor point to the position where you want the new note to be inserted with <Enter>.
