The preferred keyboard operation mode is selected by means of the keyboard mode button .
The help texts will assume the default mode chord symbols.
The keyboard mode supplies the following possibilities:
Notes (a-g) instructs MusiCAD to insert a note for every letter a, b, c, d, e, f and g in the nearest octave.
Keyboard (1-z) is the mode you need to play on the PC-keyboard as it were a piano-like device. All the usual meanings (hotkeys) of most keys are temporarily overruled.
The default mode is chord symbols where the keys a, b, c, d, e, f and g will start insert a chord symbol and the other keys have their effect as defined in the shortcut assignment file. <Enter> will insert a note at the cursor position.
Lyrics 1 to 4 and music directions 1-3 will come as a relief if you need to enter lots of text to the notes.
